The air quality in your office can be improved by the addition of indoor plants. Modern materials such as carpets, plastics, and inks emit small amounts of noxious gases which reside in the air of our energy efficient, sealed buildings. Scientists at NASA studied the problem and came up with a partial solution that relies on the fact that plants offer fresh air.
Their research showed that potted tropical foliage plants are able to filter and help purify the surrounding air by biodegrading portions of these airborne chemicals. It takes only about two medium sized plants per 100 square feet to make a difference in air quality. Plus, the plants will improve the appearance of the space and the disposition of the people inhabiting it.
